Privacy Policy

What we collect

Freeway collects your phone number for account creation and authentication. With your permission, Freeway accesses your device contacts list to match you with other Freeway users. We also store your availability status (Free, Busy, or Driving) to display to your contacts in real time.

How we use your information

• Your phone number is used solely to create and authenticate your account.
• Your contacts list is used only to identify which contacts also use Freeway. It is never stored on our servers.
• Your availability status is stored and shared with your Freeway contacts in real time.
• Motion data is processed only on-device to detect driving — it is never transmitted or stored.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising. We do not store your contacts list on our servers. We do not share your location with anyone, ever.

Service providers

Freeway uses Google Firebase for authentication, Firestore data storage, and analytics. Firebase's privacy policy is available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Data retention

Your account data (phone number and status) is retained until you delete your account. To request account deletion, contact us at [email protected].

Children's privacy

Freeway is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
